So I was cleaning out my room a couple

Tuesday, January 17th, 2006

Hm. Some days off. I had this comic ready, but for some reason I never got it up. Not to mention I had to redo it. Oh well, excuses excuses.

UPDATE, 2/9/06: Moose River Regular is going to take a short hiatus while I ejaculate a one-shot comic, Moose River Japan. The whole stupid psudo-manga/gamer/robot bullshit web comics have really gotten to me, and I’m gonna go nuts if I do something about it. I figure doing maybe about twenty pages is enough… and given the chicheic nature of those comics, I’m sure it’ll all be done by next week. >:)

Plippy (Mar 7, 2006, 19:33):
Timbosister: Huh?

Timbosister (Mar 7, 2006, 10:24):
Wow! I’m glad I avoided the genre all together and formed a biased opinion based on the views expressed in Muusugawa no Nihon! Thanks dude!

Plippy (Mar 6, 2006, 19:12):
OK, all of Muusugawa no Nihon was been buried deep into the archives. Until I get a small page up for it, you can reread it here.

Vlad Damien (Feb 10, 2006, 9:41):
Well, I never read MacHall, nor Apple Geeks, so I wouldn’t know, but yes, MegaTokyo has all that…

Plippy (Feb 9, 2006, 14:19):
Actually, I described Mac Hall and Apple Geeks. But I guess MegaTokyo counts, but I never read it. It has a hot female robot in it too? … All of them should just align their resources and make one just comic: “Just Another Fake Manga by Non-Japanese Folk”. Oh, what also makes web comics really popular is that the main characters are all geeky yet unquestionably really cool males with their nongeeky and really hot girlfriends (who are really just closet gamers). So I guess ムース川の日本 will have them too. Y’know, I’m honestly gonna make that a side comic.

DC (Feb 9, 2006, 8:46):
Hey Philippe, Moose River kicks Megatokyo’s Ass! Don’t change a thing!

Vlad Damien (Feb 9, 2006, 8:32):
Phil, you just described Megatokyo…

Plippy (Feb 8, 2006, 12:41):
I just discovered what makes certain webcomics extremely popular. It must involve gaming, use of anime art style, psudo-Japanese characters (including wearing those black Japanese guy shirts with the two light bars near the coller), everyone must be wearing sunglasses even at night, and a robot girl who is extremely sexy yet incredibly naive about everyone’s hu-mon ways. What do you think guys? Should I start over and work on ムース川の日本?

Plippy (Feb 7, 2006, 13:25):
Ooooh! Thank you Vlad! I’ve been meaning to get to some site pimpin’ soon… I said I would start doing it once I’ve hit 50 comics. And it looks like I have!

Vlad Damien (Feb 7, 2006, 8:06):
Ah yes, more cowbell… I lvoe that sketch. By the way, interviewed me and I pimped this site… should be up soon.

Plippy (Feb 6, 2006, 19:24):
Oh snap! I’ve hit a mental block. The only cure is more cowbell! … Actually, pretty much after this page I have no where else to go. So what I’m gonna do is go back and retcon in a bunch of stuff. It’s gonna take a while.

This is definitely a comic where the comic enlarge thingy comes in handy. Keep an eye out for a number of little fun bits referencing previous comics. :D

I really ought to get around to changing where it says “updated every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday” to “updated whenever”.

This comic is also the 50th comic I’ve made so far. Yay! 50 down, another 200 to go. This comic is coming along quite well… I finally have a comic writing routine that I’m comfortable with.

Plippy (Feb 3, 2006, 12:32):
That boy sure loves to hit the sauce. :D

Timbosister (Feb 3, 2006, 10:11):
Hurrah for copious amounts of liquor!

Oh my God…

OK, here’s the second retconned comic. There are five new frames spanned over this comic and the next one.

Anyways… there was this one time

Thursday, January 12th, 2006

If you haven’t already noticed, check out the Shop section. I posted covers to four of the six mini-comics I’ll be mass producing soon. Once I get the copies done and made, I’ll begin selling them online via PayPal. :D

The gentleman in Frame 1 is saying “What’s wrong with you?!” in Dakota.. uhm… Dakotaese. However, knowing this isn’t necessary to enjoy the comic. I like throwing in those kinda of things.

Oh also… origianlly both frames 1 and 2 were gonna be frames copied from the older Moose River Regular. However I ended up having to redo the first frame; in the original comic it said that Shea was in Blackface, but considering how the world of Moose River is just ever so slightly different, I felt it was more fitting for Shea to insult Indians instead of Blacks. The second frame though was taken from the older comic. Again, knowing any of this isn’t necessary to enjoy the comic, it’s just a fun side note.

School has also started for me on last Monday, so expect a change in how often comics are produced. This could mean more or less. We’ll see.

Tuesday, January 10th, 2006

Well, just as soon as Chapter 2 ends, I’m gonna start dating these comics a bit more appropriately. Anyways, here’s me comic. Good night. If you remember the last frame, then you’ll know what the first two frames of the next comic will be.

BTW, the Moose River Shop will be open soon (more or less), I’ve been gathering material together to sell. I also will post the track listings for the “Moose River Soundtrack”. Download it from your favorite file sharing program soon!

-cant wait-

Plippy (Jan 30, 2006, 2:22):
Timbosister: “Shits and giggles”, if you haven’t already figured it out, means “for fun”. :)

Plippy (Jan 30, 2006, 2:21):
No comic for today… I spent most of my time preparing for school (ugh) and designing and redesigning covers for mini-comics I plan on selling online and at conventions soon. Check out the SHOP page for more info!

Super Teen (the anime/comic reader) (Jan 29, 2006, 19:45):
It sorta freaks me out, make it more realistic.I idn’t mean the pictures, the story line, but don’t make it all serious; i like ur comical approach. It’s kewl. I’ll keep it at that. I make comics myself and read others.

Timbosister (Jan 28, 2006, 21:28):
Shits and Giggles? I’ve never heard that before.

Plippy (Jan 27, 2006, 22:39):
vio: There’ll be some new looks for Shea as the comic progresses… a military look has not been ignored. ;)

Plippy (Jan 27, 2006, 22:38):
The shop will open as soon as I have something to sell. Right now, I got a fist full of nothing to sell.

DC (Jan 27, 2006, 17:51):
Damnit when is this Moose River Shop opening? I wanna see the track listings!
