I’m still gonna finish off this chapter with Navy, but I’m getting the sense that it’s not a very popular chapter. At least, according to some of the people I talk to regularly about it. I don’t think there’s anything particularlly wrong with it, but I’m the writer and I can’t see things the way you readers do.

Anyways, do you think this chapter is annoying to read? Yes, Navy is supposed to be unlikable; the intention being for you readers to feel confused as to why any of the main characters would support her. She’s supposed to be a jibberjabber who won’t shut up… but in doing do, did I over do things?

I want this chapter to be readable and I don’t want to scrap it outright either. The programmer in me says “just go back to the last stable version and start back up from there”… I personally think that the story was stable up until the last few pages. I’ll admit those were really really wordy and really fuck up the eyes. Maybe I should just start from there?

That aside, I could use as much advice on this chapter as possible. What do you guys think??

The Tome Of Huzzah

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

Back in the day I used to have another web comic called The Book of Huzzah. It was pretty random, it really didn’t have much of a unified story as it consisted of just a bunch of one shots. It eventually met its demise when I stopped caring about doing one-shots. Moose River eventually replaced it.

Lately, though, I’ve been in a “one shot comic” mood, and I’ve been thinking about ressurecting the Book of Huzzah format for a web comic side project. I still want to see Moose River completed. But at least this way I’ll be able to have a creative outlet to just get the one-shots out of my system. Kinda like how Jeffrey Rowland is working on both Wigu and Overcompensating.

Anyways, I’m thinking about calling the comic The Tome Of Huzzah. What do you guys think?

Please Transcribe Moose River!!

OK, some time ago I signed up for “Oh No Robot“. If you don’t know what it is, ONR is a comic search engine; what you do is transcribe a page of a comic, and that in turn makes it searchable on the ONR search engine. For some reason I never bothered with transcribing it, I suppose because I felt it to be a laborious process. However, I just discovered that YOU [points to you] can help me transcribe it! Isn’t that awesome? All you have to do is click on the “Transcribe this comic” button at the bottom there, and it’ll allow you to… well, transcribe that particular comic. Hopefully there are enough bored/interested fans out there who could help with the process and maybe help get some more people to find this comic. Isn’t that awesome?

Anyways…. I won’t stop you… transcribe away!

No new comic for tonight, but I did spend most of the day converting some old comics to the newer format:
